Launched in 1982 by " l'amicale cycliste du canton de Marigny (ACCM)" a local cycling association, the Duo Normand race is a two up time trial race which take place on a road circuit of more than 54 kilometers every September. Time trial race is a very particular exercise requiring a high technical level as well as a total completementarity inside the team. For its first edition, the Duo Normand race encountered a very large popularity with more than 300 duo's who decided to compete in Marigny

The first edition is a very good success!




Since the success of the Bouvatier-Péan team during the first edition had placed the stake at a very high level, the race has soon become internationaly recognized with the presence of swedish champions, as well as russian, italians and even british champions with the famous Chris Boardman, victorious in 93, 96 and 99. So, this is one of the rare place in the cycling world where true amateurs can compete with professional cyclists with the chronometer as unique judge.

The public is also contributing to the very good spirit of the race and has the chance to attend a wonderful event with more than 300 teams starting every two minutes from the morning till mid afternoon. The race is held on a very technical road circuit which begins with a flat land zone and which is ending by a number of crescent which implies that the competitors must manage their force in a strategical manner.
